The combination of a waterfall, a longer exposure time and a black & white presentation often produces compelling results. This fine art photograph of a waterfall is a great example. It was taken in a small cave between big granite rocks somewhere in the Swiss Canton of Fribourg. A longer exposure time smoothened the falling water. As a result, the water appears to be silkier. In addition, this intimate scene looks more zen. The light hits the granite rocks sideways in an exciting way.
The title “Dancing in the Dark” seems to fit well with this minimalist photograph. The photograph has a square crop, to keep the waterfall as well as the eye of the viewer in the centre of the frame.
Interesting in seeing a different photograph of a waterfall in black & white? Then please have a look at the photo titled The Verzasca falls! It is similar but slightly more refined.
