Rising fog in an alpine forest always is a special sight, especially early morning when the sun hits the trees sideways. It is often interesting to just watch how things evolve!
Johan captured this fine art photograph in black & white near Auronzo di Cadore in the Dolomites of Veneto, Italy. The Dolomites are a UNESCO World Heritage site and lie in the Eastern parts of the Alps. It is a paradise for those who love untouched nature, mountains and the Italian atmosphere. Obviously, it also is a great place for landscape photography. Make sure to visit when you get the chance!
It was early morning in October. The fog was very thick that morning but started to rise not too long after sunrise. First sunlight softly illuminated the trees sideways. As a result, the contrast between the fog and the trees was nice. A black & white treatment enhances the look and feel of this photo of rising fog in an alpine forest.
If you like photographs of fog rising in alpine forests, make sure to have a look at the photo titled Misty Forest as well! That one was also captured in Italy.
