There is something soothing about the sound of the ocean. Even, when waves crash into each other during a violent storm. Do you agree?
This coastal landscape photograph in B&W features storm waves crashing into each other above the Atlantic Ocean near Porto Moniz.
Porto Moniz is a small town on the northwest coast of the beautiful island of Madeira, Portugal. It is well-known for its volcanic lava pools and rugged coastline. As a result, it is not only a nice place to go for a swim but also to photograph the coast there.
Have a look at the photograph titled “Soothing Sunrise”, in case you are interested in seeing more of Madeira. That photograph features the quay in the small harbour of Seixal, which lies in the same part of Madeira.
A long lens captured the crashing waves in a more intimate close-up manner, which isn’t always easy under these conditions. For some reason the waves look more imposing and potent, and there definitely is enough to look at anyway. The black & white treatment gives it a bit of a raw look and feel. “Ocean Wild” seemed to be an appropriate title for this Portuguese landscape photograph.
